Pan and Marron? Say what!? Actually, I just found it an interesting attention-getter. Gotchya! ;)
Also, we're not trying to ditch Trunks or anything. It's just a title for this site and a reminder that if he were out of the equation, what would be left to squabble about? He is the primary factor in all of this and so we decided to give this site and cause-header such an ironic title.
What's this all about?
Simple. After countlessly stumbling over all those Pan/Trunks and Marron/Trunks fan squabbles as I tried to peacefully read some decent fics about Trunks, I've decided to make an anti-T/P and anti-T/M page. My motto: "Can't we all just get along?" My answer: "Hell yes!"
Who the heck are we?
I am "SS" the webmaster of this page and my associate is "TVB". TVB originally came up with this idea while writing the fanfic, "Payback." We both have sites related to Dragonball. I have one tributing Gohan called "Saiya-jin Scholar" and TVB has a GT-related site called the "Capsule Corporation Bistro of which this page is hosted off of. "We are general fans of the Dragonball series, in ALL its variants from the original to GT. I have a fondness for Son Gohan and BOTH Trunks. And "TVB" has a fondness for the GT saga in general. We're usually very tolerant of who's paired with Trunks since we both just like to read fics about him and others, but these days, the bickering of T/P and T/M fans has spoiled that.
Why is there a squabble anyway?
I'm not sure how or why it exists, but Pan fans and Marron fans for the most part do NOT seem to get along. They often bash each other on their respective sites, on fanfiction archive sites, and so forth. The squabbling of these two sets of fans is as bad if not worse than Vegeta's vendetta against Goku! It's rather pathetic actually. Both are obviously fans of Dragonball and perhaps Trunks and yet rather than share the exciting possiblities of that fandom, they decide to bitch and moan about which female he should be paired with. Trunks. Ah well, the glory of fanfiction,etc. is that the author can make any kind of pairing or plot and change existing plots,etc. right? And so, this page was born.
Pan and Marron, a possiblity? (yes, that attention-getter could be a possiblity afterall)
Yeah, it sounds a bit yuri (female/female), but hey, if this will help bring the two Trunks factions together in fandom, then so be it. Perhaps Pan and Marron can find true love within themselves rather than fight over a man that appears to be a content lone wolf. I hardly think he'd want to be the cause of friction between two fairly close, long-term family friendships either. Krillin (Marron's father) is friends with not only Goku, but also his son, Gohan (Pan's father). If Pan and Marron fight for Trunks, tension will be created between the two families through no fault other than their daughters' competition.
Besides, you take Trunks out of the equation and the conflict between the two factions is gone right? But alas, it's just our personal idea and not to be taken any more seriously than Marron or Pan with Trunks pairings.
And if you're a Pan/Trunks or Marron/Trunks fan?
Give the other faction an equal share without bashing. Perhaps give some links to sites that sport the other option. Odds are, a portion of the visitors to your site are Trunks fans. Pan and Marron by themselves hold only a small fraction of fandom. But when combined with Trunks, who's a very popular character, their popularity increases dramatically. Rather than say "I prefer P/T or M/T pairing" and leave it at that, maybe add, "but I also have links to some other Trunks pairings/possiblities." And to those extremists out there...please stop showing your immaturity by strongly bashing the other faction. Keep your opinions to yourself and stay neutral on the outside.
So what can you do?
Simple, help bring the two factions together by supporting this cause. Show your support of the end to the competition. Perhaps the two factions can find a compromise and support each other.
